We went on holiday to Seahouses in Northumberland in August 2021. We as a family really love it up there and have now been a few times.
This Northumberland landscape view is from just outside Bamburgh on the way to Seahouses. If you park just outside Bamburgh and walk to the beach as you walk over the dunes and look towards Bamburgh Castle you can see this lovely view. During August there are many beautiful wild flowers growing amongst the grassy dunes. Giving the Northumberland landscape and extra splash of colour.
I created this view in charcoal first, then created it in colour with oil pastels. This version has so much atmosphere due to it being in black and white.
Unframed:- The final artwork is mounted in an acid free mount 58cm x 57cm and posted out ready for you to take to a framer to choose the frame.
*Colours/ tones may vary slightly from the photographed work.
Drawing on my degree in Fine Art painting and drawing, I create a charcoal drawing first, then a colourful oil pastel painting of the same scene. I then use both of these to create the felt landscape out of wool and other materials. I find creating the scene in oil pastel first helps to give my felt landscapes more of a painterly feel.
