STYLE Yorkshire landscape art print of Sutton Bank
LOCATION Sutton Bank, Cleveland Way, North Yorkshire
SUBJECT Summer countryside landscape with patchwork fields, meadow flowers and panoramic views across Yorkshire
This was inspired by a visit to Sutton Bank on a very hot and sunny day. We walked along the Cleveland Way in Yorkshire to this view signed posted as the best view in England.
It certainly is a magnificent view. You can see so far into the distance with all the little farm fields below and the summer meadow flowers in the foreground. Well worth a visit if you enjoy walking or biking.
You can park at the Sutton Bank National Park Visitor Centre, there is an information centre there for walks and bike trails info. Plus a lovely cafe and a small but lovely play area for the kids in amongst the trees.
“The Best View in England” was the sign,
It certainly was divine.
Farmers’ fields, like a patchwork quilt,
With drystone walls so finely built.
The view stretched as far as the eye could see,
That feeling of being wild and free.
Meadow flowers, little pops of colour,
Make the scene complete each summer.
Yorkshire’s countryside at its best,
Summer’s colours at their finest.
A great panoramic view to admire,
Lifting the soul and spirits higher.
