Coastal art of Lindisfarne Castle on Holy Island in Northumberland. It’s sea view with a little boat in the foreground and Bamburgh Castle in the distance.
Whilest visiting Northumberland on holiday we decided to visit Holy Island. We checked the tidal times for a safe crossing time and crossed the causeway. Excited to be there, we wondering around in the beautiful sunshine seeing all the sights Holy Island had to offer.
At the Lookout Tower we saw this lovely coastal view, looking over the water to Bamburgh Castle. The sea was so calm that day with the sand dunes just visible above the water.
We had to keep an eye on the time – as you need to drive back over the causeway before the sea rises and covers it up.
The original coastal artwork measures approximately 13cm (H) x 27cm (W).
Unframed:- The final artwork is mounted in an acid free mount (31 x 44cm) and posted out ready for you to take to a framer to choose the frame.

Drawing on my degree in Fine Art painting and drawing, I create a charcoal drawing first, then a colourful oil pastel painting of the same scene. I then use both of these to create the felt landscape out of wool and other materials. I find creating the scene in oil pastel first helps to give my felt landscapes more of a painterly feel.
