We’d been on a long walk around Kylemore Abbey in the pouring rain. Luckily, we’d bought fantastic rain hats and waterproofs. As Alfred Wainwright once said, “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing”. The rain fell heavily that day.
On our journey to our next destination to explore more of Ireland’s beautiful scenic landscapes, we encountered a breathtaking sight that compelled us to stop and admire it – the majestic mountains, glistening in the sunshine after the rain.
My husband and I spent a week exploring Ireland. It rained heavily every day, but armed with waxed hats and waterproofs, we headed out regardless.
On the drive back to our B&B one evening, the rain cleared, the mist lifted and this beautiful mountain appeared. It was a reminder that some of the most memorable views come after the rain.

Because the air is fresh and lighter.

What is a giclée print?
Pronounced “zhee-clay”, giclée is the French word meaning “to spray”. Giclée printing is a high-quality fine art printing process using archival pigmented inks to produce excellent detail and rich colours, with prints designed to last for many years.

Slight variations in colour may occur between the printed artwork and the image you see on your screen.
Drawing on my degree in Fine Art, I use wool in lots of different colours, much as you would use tubes of paint, and lay out the loose fibres of different coloured wool onto my base, as you would paint onto canvas.
Once finished, the next stage is to make these loose fibres of wool stick together using the wet felting technique to turn the wool painting into a piece of felt. This is done by adding hot soapy water and friction. The hot water opens up the wool’s scales and the friction, through rubbing and rolling, binds them together. During this process the wool shrinks by about 15–20%, leaving one piece of felt material.
Once the felted picture is dry, I needle felt into the piece to sharpen some of the details.
