Silent and Still

There are moments in life when everything feels perfectly still. This piece, Silent and Still, was inspired by one of those moments.
After a day of exploring Connemara, we stayed in a small B&B just a short walk from this quiet beach.
As the sun slowly set behind the mountains, the waves gently lapped at the shore, and the world felt calm.
We stood there, silent and still, watching a solitary boat bobbing on the water as the sun went down.
I’ve always found comfort in being surrounded by nature – it’s where I go to clear my mind and feel grounded. That peaceful moment inspired me to recreate the scene in felt, hoping to capture that same sense of stillness and calm.
If you, like me, turn to nature for comfort and peace, I hope this artwork brings a little of that quiet to your space.
You can enjoy Connemara in Ireland as part of the Wild Atlantic Way. It is simply a stunning place to visit with lots of beautiful scenery to enjoy.

The mounted artwork measures approximately 45.5cm (w) x 47.6cm (h).
Unframed:– The final felt landscape painting is attached to a piece of acid free mount board and mounted in an extra thick acid free mount ready for framing.

Drawing on my degree in Fine Art, I use merino wool in lots of different colours (as you would tubes of paint) and lay out the loose fibres of different coloured wool onto my base (as you would paint on canvas).
