Painting of North Yorkshire. An original oil pastel painting of sheep and heather in a winter Yorkshire moorland landscape at Black Hambleton.
It was a crisp, sunny, winters day. As we walk we could hear the ice puddles crunch under our feet. Who am I kidding we broke a few for fun too – one of life’s little pleasures!
Our walk took in this view of the heather and sheep on the moorland. I loved the colours of the scene before us. The golden hills gleaming in the winter sun against the beautiful heather in the foreground.
We finished off our walk in front of an open fire in the pub for a late lunch – bliss.
As a child I had a flock of four pet sheep. So I have included just four sheep as a little nod to my childhood flock.
The original painting of North Yorkshire measures 22.5cm (H) x 22.5cm (W).
Unframed:- The final artwork is mounted in a double thickness acid free mount measuring 38cm (H) x 37.2cm (w) and posted out ready for you to take to a framer to choose the frame.
*Colours/ tones may vary slightly from the photographed work.
Drawing on my degree in Fine Art, I create a charcoal drawing first, then a colourful oil pastel painting of the scene. I use both of these to create the fibre landscape from.
This would make a beautiful unique gift for a special person. You may buy this piece for yourself or for a loved one who has a special birthday, wedding, christmas gift or anniversary gift.
