Poppy art print, “Poppies In Bloom” is a limited edition giclée art print reproduced from my original felt landscape artwork. It features beautiful red poppies growing amongst a golden corn field, inspired by a field I knew well as a child in Yorkshire.
MEDIUM: Limited edition giclée art print from an original felt landscape artwork
STYLE: Yorkshire landscape art / felt landscape art
LOCATION: Yorkshire
SUBJECT: Poppies / corn field / summer countryside
As a young girl, I would rogue this field to remove the weeds from the seed crop.
Wandering through the golden field in the mid-August sun, with the birds singing as we walked and poppies in full bloom, was a beautiful memory.
The bright red poppies gave the field a splash of colour against the golden wheat, swaying gently in the breeze. Just enjoying the sunshine and birdsong.
Poppies swaying in the breeze,
They dance and move with ease.
The sun is high up in the sky,
This fragile beauty catches your eye.
A splash of red across the fields,
A golden glow from ripened yields.
A barley crop or maybe wheat?
The poppies make the scene complete.
The farmer must rogue the crop,
Removing weeds before they pop.
To keep the purity of the seed,
It’s a must to protect the breed.
In the summer sun so hot,
Walking the rows across the plot,
Removing weeds that did persist,
Lucky, poppies stay off the list.
My prints are professionally produced using high-quality materials and archival pigmented inks. Customers often comment on the exceptional quality of my prints, saying they look even better in person than they expected.
What is a giclée print?
Pronounced “zhee-clay”, giclée is the French word meaning “to spray”. Giclée printing is a high-quality fine art printing process using archival pigmented inks to produce excellent detail and rich colours, with prints designed to last for many years.

Slight variations in colour may occur between the printed artwork and the image you see on your screen.
Drawing on my Fine Art degree, I create my felt landscapes using wool as a painter would use oils or watercolours. Layers of coloured merino wool fibres are carefully arranged to build the landscape before being transformed into felt using the traditional wet felting technique of hot soapy water, rolling and friction.
During felting, the wool naturally shrinks by around 15–20%, creating a single piece of felt. Once dry, I use needle felting to refine details and add texture before the artwork is professionally scanned for printing.
