I have always loved the character of Highland cows, with their distinctive long horns and wonderfully shaggy coats. In this artwork, Bonnie is standing proudly amongst a beautiful meadow of wildflowers, with the green hills of the Scottish Highlands creating the backdrop.
Highland cows have become such a much-loved symbol of the Scottish countryside, and I wanted to capture their character alongside the colour and beauty of the landscape around them.
The Highland cow called Bonnie,
Her scruffy coat so tawny.
Adored by so many now,
The countryside’s most loved cow.
Distinctive with her horns so long,
Gracefully curving, proud and strong.
The meadow flowers set the scene,
Against the hills so lush and green.
My prints are professionally produced using high-quality materials and archival pigmented inks. Customers often comment on the exceptional quality of my prints, saying they look even better in person than they expected.

The original artwork was created using merino wool and mixed fibres, building up the colours and textures of Bonnie, the meadow flowers and the Scottish landscape.
What is a giclée print?
Pronounced “zhee-clay”, giclée is the French word meaning “to spray”. Giclée printing is a high-quality fine art printing process using archival pigmented inks to produce excellent detail and rich colours, with prints designed to last for many years.
The print is produced as a limited edition of 95 in this size. Each print is signed, dated and numbered by me, and you will receive the next sequential number available.

Drawing on my Fine Art degree, I create my felt landscapes using wool as a painter would use oils or watercolours. Layers of coloured merino wool fibres are carefully arranged to build the landscape before being transformed into felt using the traditional wet felting technique of hot soapy water, rolling and friction.
During felting, the wool naturally shrinks by around 15–20%, creating a single piece of felt. Once dry, I use needle felting to refine details and add texture before the artwork is professionally scanned for printing.
