Highland cow print, “Bonnie – Meadow Highland Cow” is a limited edition giclée art print reproduced from my original oil pastel painting. Featuring a beautiful Highland cow standing in a wildflower meadow against the rolling hills of the Scottish Highlands, this artwork captures the character and charm of one of the countryside’s most loved animals.
MEDIUM: Limited edition giclée art print from an original oil pastel painting
STYLE: Highland cow art / Scottish landscape art
LOCATION: Scottish Highlands
SUBJECT: Highland cow / meadow / Scottish countryside
I have always loved the character of Highland cows, with their long curved horns and wonderfully shaggy coats. Bonnie is pictured standing proudly in a beautiful meadow, surrounded by wildflowers with the green hills of the Scottish Highlands behind her.
There is something about Highland cows that makes them such a popular subject for countryside art. Their distinctive appearance and gentle character seem to capture the wild beauty of the Scottish landscape.
This artwork was originally created as an oil pastel painting, building up the colours and textures to capture Bonnie’s scruffy coat, the meadow flowers and the beautiful landscape around her.
The Highland cow called Bonnie,
Her scruffy coat so tawny.
Adored by so many now,
The countryside’s most loved cow.
Distinctive with her horns so long,
Gracefully curving, proud and strong.
The meadow flowers set the scene,
Against the hills so lush and green.
